‘Staying positive doesn’t mean you have to be happy all the time. It means that even on hard days you know that better ones are coming.‘
Welcome back to Part 2 of the Studio Positivity Diaries! Next up we have our very own yogi Rachael sharing all things positive. Read below to find out her top tips of how she’s been keeping on top of her positive mentality during lockdown!
Staying Positive & Productive with Rachael
1. Make your bed
Perhaps this is second nature to some people, but if its not, this is a simple but effective way to make sure your day starts in a super productive and organised way! Make the bed, throw open a window and let in some fresh air, and tidy any clutter before you leave your bedroom. That way when you return to it later it’ll be a clean, tidy, cosy safe space for you to rest in.
2. Walk a pet
Get outdoors with your furry companion and connect with nature, its so important during this time. As in lockdown we are forced to spend most of our time indoors, getting that crucial break of fresh air and a different environment will help to clear your mind and give you a new wave of appreciation to what we have on our doorstep!
3. Disconnect from social media
Turn your social media notifications off or delete the apps off your phone for a few days. Rachael recommends doing it over a weekend and giving those two days completely to yourself. The outside world will still be there when you get back we promise!
4. Make time for meditation
Rachael recommends doing a meditation in the morning to set you up for the rest of the day, any time you can allow yourself some stillness whether its 5, 10 or 20 minutes. It will help you to stay focused on the present moment and provide an escape from all the worries and news stories! Need an app to get you started? We recommend Insight Timer!
5. Brush your hair!
Brush your hair and get out of your pyjamas! Who cares if you’re not leaving the house, show up for yourself you deserve it.
